or affirmation shall be recorded in the clerk's office of such
county or city; and every such policeman so appointed,
after the recording of the oath or affirmation to be by him
taken as aforesaid, shall possess and exercise in the counties
and cities in which the railroads, canals, collieries, furnaces,
rolling-mills and premises of the corporation for which he
may have been appointed are respectively situated all the
authority and powers held and exercised by constables at
common law and under the statutes of this State, and also
all the authority and powers conferred by law on policemen
in the City of Baltimore.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 116.
(Senate Bill 225)

AN ACT to transfer Sections 59, 66, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66,
67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, ", 78, 79, 80 and
80A of Article 65 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1943 Supp. ), title "Militia, " sub-title "Veterans' Guard-
ianship" from said Article to Article 96 1/2 of the Code,
as added by the General Assembly of Maryland, 1945
Session, title "Veterans, " said Sections to be codified
under the sub-title "Veterans' Guardianship, " and to be
known as Sections 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28,
29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40 and 41 of
Article 96 1/2, and to follow immediately after Section 18
of said Article 961/2, and to provide that said Sections
shall remain in their present form, and that they shall be
unchanged and unimpaired by said recodification.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70,
71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, ", 78, 79, 80 and 80A of Article 65
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supp. ), be, and
each of them is hereby transferred from said Article 65
to Article 96 1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, as said
Article was added by the1 General Assembly of Maryland,
1945 Session, and that said new Sections be codified under
the sub-title "Veterans' Guardianship, " and be known as
Sections 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31,
