annum, as the said Court may direct in writing to be paid
each of them by the County Commissioners in regular
monthly installments as the bailiffs of said Court are
now paid.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, sub-
sections (a), (b) and (c) of Section 5 of Article 95A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supp. ), title
"Unemployment Compensation, " sub-title "Disqualifica-
tion for Benefits, " so that said sub-sections shall con-
form with sub-section (d) of Section 4; to repeal and
re-enact, with amendments, sub-section (f) of Section 6
of said Article, sub-title "Claims for Benefits, " sub-head-
ing "Review by Board, " so as to clarify the time in
which appeals may be taken; to repeal and re-enact, with
amendments, sub-sections (c) (5), and (c) (7) of Sec-
tion 7 of said Article, sub-title "Contributions, " so as to
make the successor liable for contributions from the
first day he takes over a predecessor's business;
to define the term "annual pay roll" as used in
this Section, and to eliminate the definition of "average
annual pay roll"; to repeal and re-enact, with amend-
ments, sub-sections (a), (b) and (c) of Section 9 of said
Article, sub-title "Unemployment Compensation Fund, "
sub-headings "Establishment and Control, " Accounts
and Deposit, " and "Withdrawals, " so as to eliminate the
payment of interest, fines and penalties into the unem-
ployment compensation fund and to provide for deposit
into the unemployment compensation fund of monies
advanced in accordance with Title XII of the Social
Security Act, as amended; to provide for payment of
interest, fines and penalties from the clearing account
to the special administrative expense fund, and to cor-
rect an erroneous reference; to repeal and re-enact, with
amendments, sub-section (k) of Section 11 of said
Article, sub-title "Administration, " sub-heading "State-
Federal Cooperation, " so as to authorize the Board to
apply for advances from the Social Security Board in
