SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 2B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Alcoholic Beverages, " sub-title "Licenses, " said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 12A, to follow immediately
after Section 12 of said Article, and to read as follows:
12A. (a) Whenever the place of business sought to be
licensed lies in more than one county, or in the City of
Baltimore and a county, it shall be deemed to be wholly
within the county or the City of Baltimore where the major
portion lies; and all alcoholic beverage laws, both public
local and public general, of that place shall govern the
licensing, regulation and operation of the entire place of
business.
(b) Whenever the place of business sought to be licensed
lies equally in more than one county, or in the City of
Baltimore and a county, it shall be deemed to be wholly
within the county or the City of Baltimore which has the
most expensive license fee; and all alcoholic beverage laws,
both public local and public general, of that place shall
govern the licensing, regulation and operation of the entire
place of business. The clerk of the court or other appro-
priate agency granting a license under the provisions of
this sub-section shall divide into equal portions the license
fee collected by him, less a fee of One Dollar ($1. 00) for
the issuance thereof, in lieu of commissions, and shall remit
an equal portion to the clerk of the circuit court or other
appropriate agency for such county and/or the clerk of
the Court of Common Pleas of Baltimore City wherein such
place of business also lies.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1945.
