124. There shall be three County Commissioners of
Baltimore County who shall hold office for the term of four
years and shall be eligible for re-election. During the term
of the present incumbents, they shall each receive an annual
salary of Forty-Two Hundred Dollars. Beginning Decem-
ber 1, 1946, that one of the County Commissioners who is
designated as president of the Board of County Commis-
sioners shall receive an annual salary of Fifty-Four Hun-
dred Dollars, and the other two County Commissioners
shall each receive an annual salary of Forty-Two Hundred
Dollars. All of the said salaries shall be payable monthly
by the Treasurer of said County. Said Board of County
Commissioners are required to meet for the transaction of
public business, at their office at Towson on Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of each week, and shall
be subject to call by the President of the Board at any
additional time or times that he may deem their presence
necessary for the transaction of business, the discharge of
their official duties, or the exercise of any powers vested in
them by either local or general laws. The President of the
Board of County Commissioners, in addition to attending
at the required meeting times of the Board hereinabove set
forth, shall be available as the executive head and represen-
tative of the Board to the extent necessary to exercise effec-
tively the powers conferred upon him. From the fifteenth
day of September to the fifteenth day of October, the said
County Commissioners shall also sit on the days above
mentioned for the purpose of reviewing assessments and
making abatements. Said Board of County Commissioners
shall perform all the duties of the Highways Commission
of Baltimore County, and shall have all and singular the
powers and authority conferred upon the Highways Com-
mission of Baltimore County by Chapter 465 of the Acts of
1904 and the several amendments and supplements thereto.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1945.
