SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 27
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Indictments—False Pre-
tenses", said new section to be known as Section 651A, to fol-
low immediately after Section 651 of said Article, and to read
as follows:

651A. In any indictment, information or warrant for false
pretenses, it shall be sufficient to use a formula substantially to
the following effect: "That A-B on the.......... day of

............... 19...., in the County (City) aforesaid, un-
lawfully and knowingly, by a certain false pretense, did ob-
tain from C-D (here listing the articles obtained) of the
goods, chattels, moneys and property of C-D, with intent then
and there to defraud, in violation of Article 27, Section (here
state section violated), of the Annotated Code of Maryland;
contrary to the form of the Act of Assembly in such case made
and provided, and against the peace, government and dignity
of the State. "

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 95.
(Senate Bill 103)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments", sub-title "Perjury", said new section to be known as
Section 527A and to follow immediately after Section 527
of said Article, providing for a short form of indictment,
information or warrant for the crime of perjury.

land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Perjury", said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 527A, to following immediately
