CHAPTER 93.
(Senate Bill 102)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Crimes and Pun-
ishments", sub-title "Embezzling Property and Writings",
said new section to be known as Section 140A and to follow
immediately after Section 140 of said Article, providing for a
short form of indictment or warrant for the crime of em-
bezzlement.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land y That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Embezzling Property
and Writings", said new section to be known as Section 140A,
to follow immediately after Section 140 of said Article, and to
read as follows:
140A. In any indictment or warrant for embezzlement, it
shall be sufficient to use a formula substantially to the follow-
ing effect: "That A-B on the............ day of............,
19...., in the County (City) aforesaid did feloniously embezzle
from C-D the sum of............ dollars current money (or
an enumeration of articles embezzled as the case may be),
in violation of Article 27, Section (here state section violated),
of the Annotated Code of Maryland; contrary to the form of
the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided and
against the peace, government and dignity of the State. "
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 94.
(Senate Bill 104)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments", sub-title "Indictments—False Pretenses", said new
section to be known as Section 651A and to follow immedi-
ately after Section 651 of said Article, providing for a short
form of indictment, information or warrant for the crime
of false pretenses.
