CHAPTER 679.
(House Bill 671)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 64A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Merit System", said
new section to be known as Section 3B, and to follow imme-
diately after Section 3A of said Article, providing for the in-
clusion of the employees of the Traffic Court of Baltimore
City in the Merit System.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
64A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Merit System", said new section to be known as Section 3B,
to follow immediately after Section 3A of said Article, and to
read as follows:
3B. On or after June 1, 1945, the Chief Magistrate of the
Traffic Court of Baltimore City shall certify to the Commis-
sioner of State Employment and Registration the name of any
person who has been employed for a period of two or more
year at the Traffic Court of Baltimore City, with the salary
being paid, and said Commissioner is hereby directed to classify
said employee in the Merit System without further examina-
tion or restriction; and said Commissioner shall certify such
person to the governor for inclusion in the Merit System. Upon
approval by the Governor, said employee shall thereafter be
entitled to all the rights and privileges, and subject to all the
provisions of Article 64A. Thereafter all appointments to
such position shall be made in conformity with Article 64A of
the Annotated Code.
SEC. ' 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.
