George's County, defined as the Metropolitan District, in
Chapter 1008 of the Acts of 1943 of the General Assembly of
Maryland, and said taxes shall not be levied in any regional
district or in any part of said County added to said Metro-
politan District by this or under any subsequent General
Assembly. The County, Commission ers shall offer said bonds,
or any issue thereof, for sale to the highest bidder, by sealed
bids delivered at a place and time mentioned and described in
one or more advertisements inserted in at least two news-
papers. The said Commissioners may adopt such rules and
regulations relating to said bonds and offering as they deem
advisable.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the proceeds of the
said bonds, or any issue thereof, shall be allocated by said
County Commissioners as follows and proportionately:

Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500, 000) for widening,
straightening and generally improving our present road sys-
tem, in conjunction with the State Roads Commission and the
the Federal Bureau of Public Roads, with such additional
funds as may be available from either source, primarily con-
sidering the needs of our community and not through traffic;

Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250, 000) for park
improvements, including park roads, and the acquisition of
particularly desirable land in a planned park system, that may
be lost by building encroachments or" other private uses in the
future, including the construction of an office building for the
use of the Maryland-National Capitol Park and Planning Com-
mission at a cost not to exceed $25, 000;

Fifty Thousand Dollars' ($50, 000) for the treatment of dan-
gerous road or street intersections not coming within the road
improvement fund;

Sixty Thousand Dollars ($60, 000) for the purchase of future
play grounds;

Forty Thousand Dollars ($40, 000) for roadside improve-
ments, including tree planting, trimming, etc., under the direc-
tion of the Forestry Service;

Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50, 000) for the; installation of
equipment for lighting important roads and particularly
intersections;

Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50, 000) for the purchase or the
cost of condemnation of unsightly or hazardous roadside
buildings, bill board sites, obstructions, etc.

Provided, however, that said County Commissioners may,
at the request of the Advisory Board hereinafter created,
change the allocation of any of the funds in an amount not
exceeding twenty (20) per cent; and provided, further, that
all or any part of the funds allocated for street or highway
