is hereby made available to The Mayor and City Council of
Hyattsville the same authority now or hereafter provided by
law for said purposes within the City of Hyattsville.

Whenever provision is made by law for the payment to
incorporated towns of their distributive share of any tax,
appropriation or allotment after July 1, 1945, the propor-
tionate share due The Mayor and City Council of Hyattsville
shall be computed and paid upon the basis of the corporate
limits of the City of Hyattsville as enlarged by this Act.

724F. All roads, streets, avenues or alleys other than State
highways, lying within the territory annexed to the said City
of Hyattsville by this Act, and heretofore dedicated or ac-
quired under the provision of any laws of the State of Mary-
land, shall be subject to all provisions of law then in force
in regard to the acceptance, ^ion-acceptance, repair, mainte-
nance, construction or street improvements and the levying of
assessments therefor upon abutting property, of, in, or upon
public highways in "the said City by The Mayor and City
Council of Hyattsville.

724G. All of the inhabitants of the territory, and the terri-
tory itself, annexed to the City of Hyattsville by this Act, shall
in all respects and to all intents and purposes, be subject to
the powers, jurisdiction and authority vested, or to be vested
by law in The Mayor and City Council of Hyattsville, and to
all the laws and ordinances now in force in said City, or
which may hereafter be enacted and ordained by it, so far as
the same may be consistent with the provisions of this Act,
and the territory so annexed 'shall in all respects be taken
and considered as a part of the municipal corporation of The
Mayor and City Council of Hyattsville.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose of
determining whether the residents of the territory hereinabove
described desire the same to be annexed to the City of Hyatts-
ville, there shall be held an election on the 7th day of May,
1945, and

are hereby appointed a committee for the purpose of holding
said election. In the event any of said committee shall die,
become incapacitated from acting for any cause, or refuse to
act, the said election shall be held by the remaining member
or members of said committee. Not less than ten (10) days
