effect on July 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 542.
(Senate Bill 250)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 79
of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943
Supplement), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter
7. Schools".

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 79 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Public Education", sub-
title "Chapter 7. Schools", be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read as follows:

79. Whenever a school numbers more than thirty-five chil-
dren in average attendance, an assistant shall be employed by
the county board of education; and for every additional thirty-
five children, one teacher shall be appointed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1945.

Approved April 5, 1945.

CHAPTER 543.
(Senate Bill 251)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 93,
of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943
Supplement), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter
8. Teachers' Certificates, Salaries and Pensions".

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 93 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Public Education", sub-
title "Chapter 8. Teachers' Certificates, Salaries and Pen-
sions", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, so as to read as follows:,
