levied during the month of May in each and every year. The
taxes so levied shall be due and in arrear on the first day of
October succeeding their levy.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
take effect June 1st, 1945.

CHAPTER 509.

(House Bill 500)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 22
of Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Frederick County", sub-title "Attor-
ney's Fees", providing compensation for attorneys appointed
by the Court.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 22 of Article 11 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Frederick County",
sub-title "Attorney's Fees", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

22. The County Commissioners of said county shall levy and
pay to the person appointed by said court to assist in the
prosecution, or to defend in any case, such amount as the
court, in its discretion, shall fix to compensate such person
for his services, provided, that the court shall make no award
where there has not been an actual trial, and, provided,
further, that this section shall not be taken to change or
repeal the appearance fees allowed by the general law.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 510.

(House Bill 503)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 65
"of Article 17 -of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1989
Edition), title "Clerks of Courts", sub-title "Clerks of Cir-
cuit Courts", relating to recording instruments affecting
title to or interest in both land and personal property.
