tirement Fund", relating to the Teachers' Retirement Fund
of Baltimore County.

WHEREAS, the teachers of Baltimore County are now in-
cluded in the State Teachers' Retirement System and these sec-
tions are unnecessary; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 723-741, inclusive, of Article 3 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Baltimore County", sub-title "Teachers' Retirement Fund",
be and they are hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

Approved March 29, 1945.

CHAPTER 508.
(House Bill 483)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 888
of the Prince George's County Code (1943 Edition, being
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Laurel", sub-head-
ing "Tax Levy", providing for an increase in the amount
which may be levied and collected for general purposes in
the town of Laurel.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly o j Mary-
land, That Section 888 of the Prince George's County Code
(1943 Edition, being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Prince George's County", sub-title
"Laurel", sub-heading "Tax Levy", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

The said Mayor and City Council shall have power to
levy and collect taxes in the town, not exceeding for general
purposes in any one year, forty-five cents on each one hun-
dred dollars of assessable property and may also levy not
exceeding fifteen cents ($0. 15) on each one hundred dollars
($100. 00) of assessable property for the purpose of establish-
ing and continuing municipal garbage collection, and shall also
levy the taxes required to meet the interest and redeem all
bonds heretofore legally issued, all of which taxes shall be
