said clerk shall receive such fee as is payable for the recording
of a judgment of a Justice of the Peace.
The said clerk shall record the said judgment forthwith, and
shall endorse thereon the time and place of its record and may
then deliver the same to the plaintiff, and the clerk shall have
said judgments properly indexed;, said judgments shall be
liens from the date of such recording; the said clerk shall enter
any of said judgments satisfied upon the order in writing of
the plaintiff or his attorney and shall file such order in his
office. All said judgments recorded in the Superior Court of
Baltimore City. shall be recorded in a book marked "People's
Court Judgments".
As to any judgment so recorded, the same may be enforced
by way of attachment or execution either by the Court in
which it has been recorded or by the People's Court of Balti-
more City, except that the plaintiff shall have but one satis-
faction thereof.
No sale of real or leasehold property under any attachment
or fieri facias issued out of the People's Court of Baltimore
City shall be valid; when the plaintiff desires execution against
such property of the defendant, the clerk of the Court where
the judgment is recorded shall issue such execution to the
sheriff to be proceeded with by him as in executions directed to
him.
Execution or attachment may issue on any judgment ren-
dered by the People's Court of Baltimore City returnable to
the Circuit Court of any County in this State, provided the
plaintiff or his attorney shall have recorded a copy of the
original judgment, or a duly certified copy thereof, in the Cir-
cuit Court for the County from which said execution or attach-
ment is to be issued.
This section shall affect and apply to judgments of the Peo-
ple's Court which have been recorded in a Court of Record
prior to the enactment hereof.
The Judges of the People's Court of Baltimore City shall
have jurisdiction and power over any such judgments to the
extent limited and defined by law.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.
