(1939 Edition), being Article 16 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County, "
and to Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince George's County, "
the said new sub-title to be known as "Takoma Park
Library" and to follow immediately after the sub-title
"Takoma Park" in said Articles 16 and 17 respectively;
to authorize and direct the Mayor and Council of Takoma
Park to levy and collect annually a tax for the benefit
of the Takoma Park Library and to pay over the pro-
ceeds of the said tax to the Takoma Park, Maryland,
Library Association in the manner provided in this
Act; and to make the said Takoma Park, Maryland,
Library Association eligible to receive the aid and bene-
fits of the provisions of Chapter 15 of Article 77 of the
Code of Public General Laws as such benefits may be
enlarged or extended by amendment of the said Chapter
15 or as state or county aid may be extended by other
public general or local law.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new sub-title to be known as "Takoma Park
Library, " consisting of 3 new Sections, be and it is hereby
added to the Code of Public Local Laws' of Montgomery
County (1939 Edition), being Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery
County, " and to Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince George's
County, " the said new sub-title to follow immediately after
the sub-title "Takoma Park" in said Articles 16 and 17
respectively, and to be known as Sections 1129-A, 1129-B
and 1129-C of said Article 16, and as Sections 976-A,
976-B and 976-C of said Article 17, and to read as follows:

1129-A.

(976-A). The Mayor and Council of Takoma Park are
hereby authorized and directed to levy a tax of 5 cents
on each one hundred dollars of valuation of all real and
personal property assessed for town taxation within the
corporate limits of the town in Montgomery and Prince
George's counties for the maintenance and support of the
Takoma Park Library at present located at the premises
known as 8 Sherman Avenue, Takoma Park, Montgomery
County, Maryland, and maintained and operated by the
Takoma Park, Maryland, Library Association, a non-stock,
non-profit association incorporated under the Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland on July 15, 1935, and which since
that date has continuously provided free public library
service to the residents of said town; the purpose of this
