CHAPTER 403.
(Senate Bill 332)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 482 and 483 of Article 4 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1938 Ed. ), title
"Baltimore City, " sub-title "Clerk of the Criminal Court
of Baltimore, " and to enact in lieu thereof two new Sec-
tions, to be known as Sections 482 and 483, and to follow
immediately after Section 481 of said Article, relating
to the bond of the Clerk of the Criminal Court of Balti-
more and providing for removal of Clerk when bond not
given as directed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 482 and 483 of Article 4 of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Maryland (1938 Ed. ), title "Baltimore
City, " sub-title "Clerk of the Criminal Court of Baltimore, "
be and the same are hereby repealed, and that two new
Sections be and they are hereby enacted in lieu thereof,
said new Sections to be known as Sections 482 and 483, to
follow immediately after Section 481 of said Article, and
to read as follows:

482. Beginning with November 5, 1946, the Clerk of the
Criminal Court of Baltimore, before he acts as such, shall
give bond to the State of Maryland in the penal sum of
fourteen thousand dollars with security or securities
to be approved by a judge of said Court, and with con-
dition that he faithfully perform the duties of his office
and account for all funds received under color of his office.
Such bond shall be recorded in the office of the Criminal
Court of Baltimore and thereafter filed with the State
Comptroller. He shall give a new bond in like manner on
or before the first day of December of the second year fol-
lowing his qualification in office.

483. If the said clerk shall fail to give bond as herein-
before directed, it shall be regarded as a misdemeanor in
office, and upon conviction thereof he shall be removed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1945.
