Attorney General, with the approval of the Governor, to em-
ploy local counsel in any ease in which the State is interested
if such employment seems desirable; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 38 of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Attorneys at Law and Attor-
neys in Fact", sub-title "State's Attorney", be and it is hereby
repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 49.
(House Bill 96)
AN ACT to repeal Section 27 of Article 87 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Sheriffs", sub-title
"Execution of Death Penalty", directing the Sheriff to
execute the death sentence.
WHEREAS, Sections 483-492 of Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), provide that capital punish-
ment shall be inflicted in the Maryland Penitentiary, thereby
rendering Section 27 of Article 87 unnecessary; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 27 of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition) title "Sheriffs", sub-title "Execution
of Death Penalty", be and it is hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 50.
(House Bill 165)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 379-382, inclusive, of Article 27
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Heating Steam Rail-
road Passenger Cars", said sections relating to the method
of heating passenger railway cars.
