CHAPTER 391.
(Senate Bill 306)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
425-428, inclusive, and Sections 431-436, inclusive of
Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Health, " sub-title "Chiropody, " and to
add Sections 434A and 436A to said Article, clarifying
and revising the laws relating to Chiropody and pro-
hibiting certain advertising by Chiropodists.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 425-428, inclusive, and Sections 431-436,
inclusive, of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1939 Edition), title "Health, " sub-title "Chiropody, " be
and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, and that Sections 434A and 436A be and they are
hereby added to said Article, all to read as follows:
Chiropody.
425. All persons now practicing chiropody, or who
shall hereafter begin to practice chiropody in the State of
Maryland shall possess the qualifications required by this
sub-title. It shall be unlawful for any person to designate
himself or herself or his or her occupation by the use of
any words or letters or trade diplomas calculated to lead
others to believe that he or she is a chiropodist or foot
specialist unless he or she is duly licensed as provided for
in this sub-title. All persons licensed under this sub-title
shall designate themselves as chiropodist and use no other
appended titles, such as foot specialist, orthopedist, sur-
geon, etc. All licenses issued by the Board shall be issued
to individual persons. It shall be unlawful for any chirop-
odist licensed in this State to practice under the name of
any entity of any kind or character or any name except his
or her true name under which the license is issued.
426. There shall be established a Board of Chiropody
Examiners for the State of Maryland. This Board shall
consist of four members whose duty it shall be to carry
out the purposes and enforce the provisions of this sub-
title. They shall be selected by the Board of Medical
Examiners of the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of
Maryland at its annual meeting (in June), three of the
said four members to be selected from among the members
of the Maryland Pedic Association, and one from among
the members of said Board of Medical Examiners of the
