which shall be securely sewed upon the starboard side and in
the middle of that part of the mainsail which is above the close
reef; this number shall be placed in an upright position and
worn at all times during the dredging season,, and returned
at the end of the season, and shall not be concealed or
defaced, and no other number shall be exposed to view or used
than that which is furnished by the Commission of
Tidewater Fisheries. Any person who shall violate the
provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misde-
meanor, as provided in Section 19 of this Article; and in any
such case the boat or vessel shall be forfeited and condemned;
in the discretion of the judge, in the manner as provided in
Section 32. The provisions of this Section shall apply to all
boats licensed to take oysters with scrape or scoop by any
county in this State, except that the numbers for such boats
shall be painted red instead of black; and the numbers shall
be delivered by the Commission of Tidewater Fisheries to the
clerks of courts as they may be ordered.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

(Senate Bill 94).

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 14
of Article 21 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edi-
tion), title "Conveyancing", sub-title "Conveyances in Gen-
eral", providing that property shall be transferred on the
assessment books in the several counties before any deed
may be recorded, and imposing certain other conditions in
relation thereto, and to repeal Sections 201 to 205, inclu-
sive, of Article 2, Sections 156 to 158, inclusive, of Article 3,
Section 108A of Article 5, as exacted by Chapter 414 of
the Acts of 1939, Section 108 of Article 6, Section 42 of
Article 7, as amended by Chapter 178 of the Acts of 1943,
Section 132 of Article 8, as amended by Chapter 161 of the
Acts of 1937, Section 88A of Article 9, as enacted by Chapter
215 of the Acts of 1935, Section 203 of Article 10, as amended
by Chapter 649 of the Acts of 1939, Section 99 of Article
11, Section 89 of Article 12, Sections 242-245A, inclusive,
of Article 13, as amended by Chapter 22 of the Acts of
1939, Section 72 of Article 14, Section 151A of Article 15,
