curve, compound curve, reverse curve and tangency, it being
the intention herein that the provisions hereof relating to.
sidewalks shall be supplemental to the provisions of Section
257 of this Article.

(f) To provide for the appointment of County Police, to
prescribe their duties, to regulate their hours, to fix their com-
pensation and otherwise to have complete charge of their activi-
ties.

(g) No act, ordinance or resolution shall be adopted by the
County Commissioners, under the powers conferred by Sub-
sections (a), (b), (c) and (d) of this Section, until a copy of
such proposal has been advertised, in one or more newspapers
of general circulation in the County, at least once a week for
two weeks, with an opportunity for hearing any protests or
objections thereto, and no such act, ordinance or resolution
shall become effective until after the expiration of ten days
from the adoption thereof.

(h) A copy of all acts, ordinances and resolutions adopted
or passed by said County Commissioners under the authority
of said Sub-sections (a), (b), (c), (d) and (g) hereof, certi-
fied by the President to the Board of County Commissioners
and attested by the Clerk to said Board, shall be kept by the
Board of County Commissioners in a special record for that
purpose, suitably indexed, and a copy thereof, similarly certi-
fied and attested, shall be filed with the Clerk of the Circuit
Court of said County.

(i) If any sub-section or provision of this section shall be
held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect any other
sub-section or provision of said section.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1945.

(House Bill 400)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
490 of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-
title "Treasurer", as it was enacted by Chapter 792 of the
Acts of 1943, to set a time limit for filing applications
for reduction of tax assessments for the ensuing fiscal year,
and to provide a date of finality of taxes, providing for an
annual levy of State and County taxes, the date when pay-
