CHAPTER 352.
(House Bill 383)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 288
of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title "Salis-
bury", as said section was amended by Chapter 96 of the
Acts of 1941, relating to audit of the books and accounts of
the Clerk, Treasurer and Collector of Salisbury.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 288 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County",
sub-title "Salisbury", as said section was amended by Chapter
96 of the Acts of 1941, be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

288. The books and accounts of said Clerk, Treasurer and
Collector shall be audited as of the first day of April in each
year by a competent person or persons, to be appointed by the
Mayor, which said audit shall be presented to the Mayor and
Council of Salisbury within ninety (90) days thereafter. The
Mayor or the Council may order an audit of same at any time
he or it may deem it proper so to do, by a competent person or
persons appointed by him or it.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety and having
been passed upon by yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title "Salis-
bury", providing for the annual levy of taxes, the date of
finality, the taxable and fiscal year, the lien of said taxes
and the dates on which same become due and owing and
