WHEREAS, Article 17 of the Constitution now makes the term
of all elected officers four years; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 144 of Article 10 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dorchester
County", sub-title "County Commissioners and Treasurer", be
and it is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 351.
(House Bill 372)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 303
of Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Worcester County", sub-title "Snow
Hill", changing the date for stated meetings of Mayor and
Council of Snow Hill.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 303 of Article 24 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Worcester County",
sub-title "Snow Hill", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

303. The Council shall meet the second Tuesday ensuing
their election, and shall hold stated meetings the first Tuesday
of every month thereafter, and adjourned meeting or meetings,
called by the Mayor, as often as necessary for the transaction
of business. A majority of the Councilmen shall constitute a
quorum.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety and having
been passed upon by yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
