CHAPTER 324.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
155 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1939 Ed. ), title "Health, " sub-title "State Veterinary
Medical Board, " dealing with approved colleges or schools
and veterinary medicine.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 155 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Ed. ), title "Health, " sub-title "State
Veterinary Medical Board, " be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read
as follows:
155. No person shall be permitted to practice veterinary
medicine or surgery or any branch thereof in the State of
Maryland, who does not possess a diploma issued from a
college or school of veterinary medicine, duly incorporated
and legally licensed to issue diplomas, and either approved
by the United States Department of Agriculture or rated
as acceptable in its educational standards by the American
Veterinary Medical Association; and if said diplomas shall
be issued after the first day of January, 1895, and it shall be
received only from such a college or school of veterinary
medicine, as shall require a three years' course of study be-
fore issuing said diploma. The holder of such a diploma shall
be required to pass such examination or test as may be from
time to time instituted as a test of qualification by such
board, and persons producing such certificates or diplomas
who pass such text examination shall, on payment of such
fees as are hereinafter provided for, be registered as
veterinary practitioners.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1945.
