Maryland, as said Article was added to said Code by the
1945 General Assembly of Maryland, title "Veterans, "
to follow immediately after Section 45 of said Article
961/2, provided that persons in the armed forces of the
United States, or persons whose duties require them to
be with such forces, shall have certain rights to file
applications for licenses, certificates and permits, or other
authorizations required by law, ordinance, rule or regu-
lation within a certain period after the end of th^ present
war, and providing that such persons shall receive credit
for the time they performed work or underwent train-
ing in the armed forces pertaining to the profession,
trade or calling for which they seek licenses, certificates,
permits or other authorizations.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted l)y the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 168A of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supp. ), title "Governor—Executive and
Administrative Departments, " sub-title "Department of
State Employment and Registration, " be and the same is
hereby repealed, and that a new Section be, and it is hereby
enacted in lieu thereof, said new Section to be known as
Section 46 of Article 961/2 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, as said Article was added to said Code by the 1945
General Assembly of Maryland, title "Veterans, " to follow
immediately after Section 45 of said Article 96%, and to
read as follows:
46. Whenever, under the laws of this State, Public
General and Public Local, or under any ordinance, rule or
regulation, a license, certificate, permit or other authori-
zation may be required in order for any person to engage
in any profession, trade or calling or to do any other act
or thing and any such law, ordinance, rule or regulation
provides for the renewal of such license, certificate, permit
or other authorization upon timely application therefor to
any board or agency enumerated in Section 162 of Article
41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, or to any other
board or agency now or hereafter existing as described in
Section 168. of said Article of said Code, or now or here-
after created by or existing under any Public Local Law
or ordinance, whose duty or part of whose duty it is to
examine or license applicants for admission to practice or
engage in any profession, trade or calling, and the person
entitled to make such application fails to file the same, at
the required time because said person is in the military,
naval or other armed services of the United States or be-
cause said person's duties require his or her presence with
said services, said person may file application for such
