CHAPTER 299.
(Senate Bill 60)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 128
of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Dis-
turbance of the Public Peace", eliminating the provision
exempting Baltimore City from said section.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 128 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments",
sub-title "Disturbance of the Public Peace", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

128. Any person who shall wilfully obstruct or hinder the
free passage of persons passing along or by any public street
or highway in any city or town of this State, or who shall wil-
fully disturb any neighborhood in such city or town by loud
and unseemly noises, or shall profanely curse and swear or use
obscene language upon or near to any such street or highway
within the hearing of persons passing by or along such high-
way, or shall wilfully hinder or obstruct the free passage of
persons passing on or through or out of the station grounds of
any railroad in the State, or who shall wilfully act in a dis-
orderly manner within such station grounds by making such
loud and unseemly noises, or by catching hold of and soliciting
persons on said grounds against the will of such person, shall,
upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to a fine of not less than
one dollar and not more than twenty-five dollars, and to the
costs of the prosecution, and the several justices of the peace
of this State shall have concurrent jurisdiction with the courts
of this State having criminal jurisdiction over the offenses
described in this section.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect Jura 1, 1945.
