Dollars ($5. 00), per day, in cases where a license has been
cancelled, revoked, suspended, renewal denied by the Local
Board or where a renewal license has been granted by the
Local Board and the Court on appeal has reversed the Local
Board's decision, for the purpose of permitting him to dispose
of his stock of alcoholic beverages; and said special license
shall carry with it the privilege of selling said stock at retail
or to one or more holders of wholesale licenses, and such hold-
ers of wholesale licenses are hereby authorized to purchase
same. But nothing herein shall authorize said licensee to
purchase alcoholic beverages for the purpose of resale under
this permit.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

(House Bill S)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 6 of
Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Sup-
plement), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Administration—
Registration — Titling", relating to fixing of salaries of
officers and employees of the Department of Motor Vehicles.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 6 of Article 66 1/2 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title
"Administration—Registration—Titling", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
6. (Commissioner to Appoint Subordinates. ) The Commis-
sioner subject to the approval of the Governor and subject to
the Maryland Merit System laws shall appoint a Deputy Com-
missioner of Motor Vehicles and such deputies, subordinate
officers, clerks, inspectors, and other employees as may be
necessary to carry out the provisions of this Article. All such
officers and employees shall receive such salaries as may be
fixed by the Standard Salary Board and provided for in the
State Budget.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.
