To the Clerk of the Court of \Appeals:

I, WILLIAM J. MCWILLIAMS, SECRETARY OF STATE, OF THE
STATE OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in
Section 317 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1939 Edition), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That, at the General Elec-
tion held in this State on Tuesday, November 7, 1944, an Act,
known as Chapter 715 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1943, was submitted to the voters of Anne Arundel County
for their adoption or rejection, under the provisions of Article
16 of the Constitution of the State, said Act being:

"An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
207 of Article 2, Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title 'Anne Arundel County', reducing
the number of County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County and providing for their nomination and election;
and relating to their qualifications and compensations.

AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 4, 642 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 715 of the Acts of 1943,
and 8, 052 votes were cast against the adoption of said Act, in
Anne Arundel County, and a majority being cast against the
adoption thereof, the same has failed of ratification.
