238. The Constables of Garrett County shall be entitled
to charge and receive the following fees for services rendered
by them in criminal cases:

For serving and return of State's Warrant.....$1. 00

For each mile traveled by him in serving and
return of said warrant...................... 07

For taking prisoner from place of arrest to jus-
tice of peace in said county; each mile........ 07

For delivering prisoner committed to jail, to
jailer..................................... 75

For each mile traveled in so doing, including con-
veyance for self and prisoner................. 10

For serving summons for witnesses in crimi-
nal case, each witness....................... 25

For serving and return of search warrant..... 1. 00

For any other service rendered in criminal cases,
and not herein enumerated, he shall be en-
titled to receive a fair and reasonable sum,
to be determined by the County Commis-
sioners.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 1083.
(House Bill 886)

AN ACT providing for the payment of additional compensa-
tion to certain salaried State employees receiving annual
salaries of less than Three Thousand Dollars ($3, 000) per
year, and to certain other employees of the State Roads Com-
mission and the Unemployment Compensation Board, and
providing for the payment of such additional compensation
as provided in the budget of the State for the fiscal years
ending June 30th, 1946, and June 30th, 1947, or either of
them, and from certain Special Funds, and from State Roads
Commission Funds.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That every salaried State employee receiving a regular
annual salary of less than Three Thousand Dollars ($3, 000) on
July 1st, 1945, shall receive in addition to his said regular
salary, the payment of One Hundred and Eighty Dollars
