the provisions of this section shall be effective only to the
extent that they do not conflict with Federal requirements in
connection with money furnished by or received from the Fed-
eral Government for public assistance.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
31 of Article 20 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Somerset County", sub-title
"County Commissioners", relating to the salary of the Coun-
ty Commissioners.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 31 of Article 20 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Somerset
County", sub-title "County Commissioners", be and it is hereby
repealed 'and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

31. There shall be three county commissioners for Somerset
County, who shall hold office for four years, and until their
successors shall be elected and qualified. Each of said commis-
sioners shall receive an annual salary of $1, 000. 00 in addition
to the mileage which may be allowed by law.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.
