AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
1270 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County (1943 Flack's Edition), sub-title, "Sheriff. "
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 1270 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince 'George's County (1943 Flack's Edition) be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to
read as follows:
1270. The Sheriff of Prince George's County shall be al-
lowed for keeping and boarding prisoners committed to the
jail of said county, a sum of not more than sixty cents a day
for each day, for each such prisoner, and the County Commis-
sioners of said county shall levy annually a sum sufficient
for the payment of the same, and shall have annual settle-
ments with the Sheriff for the same upon the presentation of
his accounts for the same rendered upon the affidavit of the
said Sheriff; provided however, that in lieu of the Sheriff
boarding prisoners as provided above the County Commission-
ers of Prince George's County may provide food, equipment,
facilities and services necessary to feed such prisoners under
the supervision of the Sheriff.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.
