Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supple-
ment), title "Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Magistrates for
Juvenile Causes", said new section to be known as Section
84A and to follow immediately after Section 84 of said Article,
and to read as follows:
84A. Whenever any minor under eighteen (18) years of age
is committed by the magistrate for juvenile causes for Mont-
gomery County, after trial or hearing, to a suitable place of
detention within said county, such detention therein shall be
temporary only for such period of time as may be necessary
until such minor is removed or transferred to a State Institu-
tion.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to add a new section to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Montgomery County (1939 Edition), being Article
16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Montgomery County", sub-title "County Commissioners and
Treasurer", said new section to be known as Section 187B
and to follow immediately after Section 187A of said Code,
so as to provide for the employment of a Public Utility
Agent and his duties and compensation; to repeal any
Public Local Law, inconsistent with the provisions of this
Act to the extent of such inconsistency.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to the Code
of Public Local Laws of Montgomery County (1939 Edition),
being Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Montgomery County", sub-title "County Commis-
sioners and Treasurer", said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 187B, to follow immediately after Section 187A of said
Code, and to read as follows:
187B. The Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery
County shall have the power and authority to employ a Public
Utility Agent to advise and to represent said Board of County
