directed by the said State's Attorney in accordance with
law, and before entering upon his duties he shall execute
a bond to the State of Maryland, for the faithful performance
of his duties in the penalty of Twenty-five Hundred Dollars
($2, 500. 00) to be approved by a Judge of the Circuit Court for
Montgomery County, and the premium of said bond shall be
paid by the County Commissioners of Montgomery County.
1092. The said Assistant State's Attorney shall, under the
direction of the State's Attorney, assist in the duties and
work in and about the State's Attorney's office, including
investigation and production of facts and evidence and the
preparation of the State's cases.
1093. The said Assistant State's Attorney may appear before
the Justice of the Peace or Trial Magistrates and before such
other courts as the State's Attorney may direct.
1094. The said Assistant State's Attorney may, at the
direction of said State's Attorney, appear in any Circuit
Court of the State on behalf of the State, provided that no
additional compensation shall be paid for this service.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 187
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Montgomery County
(1939 Edition), being Article 16 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County", sub-
title "County Commissioners and Treasurer", as said section
was amended by Chapter 820 of the Acts of 1941, providing
for increased salaries for the Attorney and for the Assistant
Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 187 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Montgomery County (1939 Edition), being Article 16 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery
County", sub-title "County Commissioners and Treasurer", as
