Arundel County", sub-title "Licenses", said new sections
to be known as Sections 377AD and 377AE, and to follow
immediately after Section 377AC of said Article, as enacted
by Chapter 321 of the Acts of 1943; relating to the licensing
and regulation of walkethons, dance marathons, endurance
contests and other contests, meets and events operated in
Anne Arundel County, and clarifying and defining the
powers granted to the County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County under Sections 377A, 377AB and 377AC
of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, and repealing all Laws conflicting herewith, and re-
pealing Sections 292 and, 293 of Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), in so far
as said sections shall apply to any licenses issued by the
County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County pursuant
hereto and in so far as said sections shall conflict with any
regulations adopted by the County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel County pursuant hereto, and providing that Sec-
tions 288 to 301 inclusive of Article 27 of the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws of Maryland (1939 Edition) shall not
be construed to prohibit or make unlawful the operation
of any amusement, contest, meet, or event, or the participa-
tion in any award or wager upon the result of any such
amusement, contest, meet, or event operated pursuant to
regulations adopted pursuant to the powers granted by
Sections 377A, 377AB, 377AC, 377AD and 377AE of Article
2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That two new sections be and they are hereby added to
Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Licenses",
said new sections to be known as Sections 377AD and 377AE,
and to follow immediately after Section 377AC of said Article
as enacted by Chapter 321 of the Acts of 1943, and to read as
follows:

377AD. The powers granted to the County Commissioners
of Anne Arundel County by Sections 377A, 377AB, 377AC,
and 377AE and all regulations adopted pursuant thereto, are
granted and are to be exercised under, pursuant to and by
virtue of the Police Powers of the State of Maryland, and all
regulations adopted, licenses established, taxes levied and
fees established thereunder shall be uniform as to each type
or class of amusement or event, but may vary as between dif-
ferent classes of amusements events etc. All such regulations
adopted or fees established shall be for the protection of the
health, morals, and for the general welfare of the people.
