7A. In all cases where a contract for work shall be given
out to a private contractor by the State Roads Commission,
the Commission shall require that not less than the prevailing
wage rates of the locality in which the work is to be done,
be paid to all skilled and unskilled labor.

The prevailing wage rates, for the purposes of this section,
shall be the predetermined wage rates as filed with the United
States Department of Labor.

The provisions of this section shall not apply to work to be
done in Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore
County, Calvert County, Caroline County, Carroll County,
Cecil County, Charles County, Dorchester County, Frederick
County, Harford County, Howard County, Kent County, Mont-
gomery County, Prince George's County, Queen Anne's Coun-
ty, St. Mary's County, Somerset County, Talbot County, Wi-
comico County and Worcester County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1945.

CHAPTER 1000.
(House Bill 248)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 89B of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "State
Roads", said new section to be known as Section 14B, and
to follow immediately after Section 14A of said Article,
relating to the disposition of the "One and One-Half (l 1/2)
Cent Lateral Road Gasoline Tax Fund" allocated to Queen
Anne's County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement),
title "State Roads", said new section to be known as Section
14B, to follow immediately after Section 14A of said Article,
and to read as follows:

14B. The State Roads Commission of Maryland is hereby
empowered and directed to pay annually on or before the first
day of December to each of the incorporated towns in Queen
Anne's County from the funds allocated to said County from
the "One and One-Half (1/2) Cent Lateral Road Gasoline Tax
