the Sheriff's office after the expiration of his term of office,
or upon his vacating his office for any reason whatsoever,
for the use of his successor in said office of Sheriff.
(d) The Chairman or any member of the Board of
County Commissioners as well as any agent, or accountant,
that may be employed by said Commissioners, shall have
the right and authority to examine the books and records
of the Sheriff at any time during the regular office hours,

take effect June 1, 1945.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
9 of Article 88C of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1943 Supplement), title "State Planning Commission, "
sub-title "Commission on Post-War Reconstruction and
Development, " extending the period of time for which
said Commission shall serve.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 9 of Article 88C of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "State Planning Com-
mission, " sub-title "Commission on Post-War Reconstruc-
tion and Development, " be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows.
9. A Commission on Post-War Reconstruction and
Development is hereby created. The Commission shall con-
sist of not more than fifteen (15) members appoint-
ed by the Governor to serve until June 1, 1947. All
members shall serve without compensation, but shall be
allowed any reasonable expenses incurred in the perform-
ance of their duties under this sub-title. The Governor
shall designate the Chairman of the Commission and the
Commission shall select a Vice-Chairman and other officers.
The members of the Commission shall include representa-
tion from the Maryland General Assembly, the State Plan-
ning Commission, industry, labor, finance and the general
public. It shall be selected so as to represent all sections
of the State and without regard to political affiliation,
race or creed. The Commission is authorized and empow-
