other day between the hours of midnight and 6 A. M. and
between the hours of 6 A. M. and 2 A. 'M. in Baltimore County
and between the hours of 1 A. M. and 6 A. M. in Baltimore
City. Provided, however, the holder of such a license in
Howard County shall be permitted to sell beer daily between
the hours of 6 A. M. and 1 A. M. ? except in the Fourth District
where the opening hour for the sale of beer on Sunday shall
be 1 P. M.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety and having
been passed upon by yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 203.
(House Bill 343)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, paragraphs
A and. D of Section 4 of Article 2B of the 1943 Supplement
to the Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Alcoholic Bev-
erages", sub-title "Beer Licenses", providing for Class A
"Off Sale", Beer Licenses, and increasing the fees for Class
D "On Sale Generally" Beer Licenses in Howard County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That paragraphs A and D of Section 4 of Article 2B of
the 1943 Supplement to the Annotated Code of Maryland, title
"Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Beer Licenses", be and they
are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

A. (Beer License, Class A (Off Sale). ), Such license shall
be issued by the Clerk of the Circuit Court of the County in.
which the place of business is located and shall authorize the
holder thereof to keep for sale and to sell beer at retail, in
any quantity to any consumers at the place therein described,
and to deliver the same in a sealed package or container,
which package or container shall not be opened nor its con-
tents consumed on the premises where sold. The annual fee
for such a license shall be Twenty-five Dollars ($25. 00), and
shall be payable to said Clerk before any such license be issued
for distribution as hereinafter provided.
