"Administration—Registration—Titling", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

96. (Period of Suspension or Revocation. ) The Department
shall not suspend a license for a period of more than one (1)
year and upon revoking a license shall not in any event grant
application for a new license until the expiration of three (3)
months after such revocation; provided, however, that the De-
partment may, after notice and hearing, suspend for an indefi-
nite period the license of a person whose physical or mental
condition is such that he cannot drive safely. The provisions of
this section shall not apply to or affect the suspension of
licenses for failure to comply with the financial responsibility
provisions of this Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 167.
(House Bill 6)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 27
of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Sup-
plement), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Licenses",
authorizing the local licensing officials to refuse to renew
license of any person convicted during the license year of
violating the laws of the United States.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 27 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-
title "Licenses", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

27. (Licenses—Renewals). The holder or holders of any
expiring license, other than special licenses issued under the
provisions of this Article, shall, not less than thirty (30) nor
more than sixty (60) days before the first day of May of each
and every year, file a written application, duly verified by oath,
for the renewal of such license with the official authorized to
approve the same. Such renewal application shall state that
the facts in the original application are unchanged, and shall
