WHEREAS, the provisions of this section are no longer
necessary; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 724A of Article 22 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington
County, " sub-title "Schoolteachers' Salaries, " be and it is
hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 164.
(House Bill 134)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 2A
of Article 17 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943
Supplement), title "Clerks of Courts", sub-title "General
Duties of Clerks", providing that discharge papers of any
person who has served in the armed forces of the United,
States shall be recorded free of charge.

SECTION 1. Be It enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 2A of Article 17 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Clerks of Courts", sub-
title "General Duties of Clerks", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

2A. The Clerk of the Circuit Court in any county, and the
Clerk of the Superior Court in Baltimore City, shall establish
a separate book and record and index therein the discharge
papers of any person who, -at any time, has served in the
armed forces of the United States, and who presents such
discharge papers for recording. The Clerk shall not make any
charge for such recording and indexing.

Such record, or a certified copy thereof, shall be admissible
in evidence in any court in this State.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.
