amendments, Section 601 of said Article as the same was
repealed and re-enacted by Chapter 517 of the Acts of 1939;
to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 601A of
said Article as the same was enacted by Chapter 517 of the
Acts of 1939; to add a new section to said Article to be
known as Section 625 and to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 624; and to repeal Sections 573, 575, 576, 5", 579, 580,
as repealed and re-enacted by Chapter 349 of the Acts of
1939; 581, 589 as repealed and re-enacted by Chapter 502
of the Acts of 1943; 597, 599, 600, 603, 604, 605, 606, 608,
610, 615, 616, 617, 618, 619, 620, 621, 622, 623, 624, 625,
626, 627, 628, 629, 630, 631, 633, 634, 635, 636, 638, 639,
640, 641, 642, 643, 644 and 645, as the same were repealed
and re-enacted by Chapter 499 of the Acts of 1943; 646, 647,
648, 649, 650, 651, 652, 665, 667, 671, 672, 673, 674, 6",
678, 679, as the same was enacted by Chapter 597 of the Acts
of 1941; 684, 685, 686, 687, 688 and 689 of said Article;
providing generally for a modernization, consolidation, and
clarification of the Road Laws of Baltimore County; to
prescribe the rights, powers, privileges, and duties of the
County Commissioners of Baltimore County with respect to
roads, streets, sidewalks, alleys, highways, storm water
drains and bridges in Baltimore County; to prescribe the
rights, powers, privileges and duties of the Roads Engineer
of Baltimore County; to provide for the acceptance of ave-
nues and roads for dedication when same have been graded,
paved and drained as prescribed; to increase the required
width of any road to be accepted from thirty to forty feet;
to provide for the construction of storm water drains in
accordance with the procedure for opening and closing
County roads, and the allowing of connections with said
storm water drains from private property; to require that
the plans, specifications and construction of all streets,
alleys and highways in Baltimore County hereafter to be
opened, established, condemned, or accepted for dedication,
shall be first approved in writing by the Roads Engineer of
Baltimore County; to require approval by the Roads Engi-
neer or the Chief Sanitary Engineer of the Metropolitan
District for the laying of any sanitary sewer, storm sewer,
or water pipes in Baltimore County; to prohibit the record-
ing of certain plats by the Clerk of the Circuit Court for
Baltimore County unless approved by the Roads Engineer;
to prescribe penalties for performing work without approval
of the Roads Engineer; to provide authority to require prop-
erty owners to repair or construct sidewalks and footways
