tion shall pay into the Special Fund a sum equivalent to two
per centum of the salary paid to him or them since the date of
his or their employment, with interest in addition thereto and
thereafter the regular percentage required under the Special
Pension Act and two per centum of the salary paid to him or
them since Section 943A became effective.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 843.
(House Bill 789)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 207
of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County", sub-title "Keeper
of Jail", relating to the compensation of the keeper of the
jail of St. Mary's County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 207 of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County",
sub-title "Keeper of Jail", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
207. The keeper of the jail of Saint Mary's County as com-
pensation for his services for attending to the prisoners and
the sanitary condition of the jail and the rendering of such
other services towards taking care of the prisoners as the
sheriff may direct, shall be allowed by the County Commis-
sioners a salary of not exceeding $100 per month.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.
