ter (1938 Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Taxi-
cabs", as said sub-title was enacted by Chapter 411 of the
Acts of 1943, said new section to be known as Section 381-O
and to follow immediately after Section 381N of said Article,
relating to the solicitation of persons to be transported
for hire or the use of any vehicle for hire which is not regis-
tered or the operator thereof is not licensed by the Taxicab
Bureau of Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore
City Charter (1938 Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title
"Taxicabs", as said sub-title was enacted by Chapter 411 of the
Acts of 1943, said new section to be known as Section 381-O,
to follow immediately after Section 381N of said Article, and
to read as follows:

381-O. (a). It shall be unlawful for any person to solicit
for transport, transport or agree to transport any person or
his baggage in any vehicle for hire unless such vehicle is duly
registered and the operator thereof is duly licensed by the
Taxicab Bureau of Baltimore City.

(b). It shall be unlawful for any person owning or in charge
of any vehicle to permit such vehicle to be used in violation
of the provisions of this section.

(c). The provisions of this section shall not be construed
to apply to vehicles operated by a public corporation, subject
to the jurisdiction of the Public Service Commission of Mary-
land, nor any group riding agreements sponsored by any
Federal, State or local agency in pursuance of any national
emergency.

SEC. 2. And 50 it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.
