that such request shall not operate to relieve, release or
discharge such surety from any liability already served
or which shall accrue, before the expiration of said sixty-day
period. The Comptroller shall promptly on receipt of notice
of such request notify the dealer who furnished such bond,
and unless such dealer shall on or before the expiration of
such sixty-day period file with the Comptroller, a new bond
with a Surety Company duly licensed to do business under
the laws of this State, in the amount and form hereinbefore
in this section provided, the Comptroller shall forthwith can-
cel the license of said dealer.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1945.

CHAPTER 821.

(House Bill 657)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 445, 447 and 455 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1943 Flack's
Edition), title "County Treasurer", and to re-enact, with
amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 445, 447 and 455 be and the same hereby
are repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

445. The Treasurer shall be entitled to appoint such clerk
or clerks as he may deem necessary, and for whose official con-
duct he shall be responsible; said clerk or clerks to be paid by
the County Commissioners.

447. All county taxes, including all taxes, assessments, and
charges which are now or which may hereafter by law be col-
lected in the same manner as county taxes shall be due on the
first day of July next succeeding their levy, and shall bear in-
terest from that date, provided that beginning with the calen-
dar year 1936 one-half of the total amount of taxes then due
on any piece or parcel of property, real or personal except
taxes on motor vehicles shall be accepted by the Treasurer of
Prince George's County and credited by him on account of pay-
ment of the total of said taxes at any time prior to the first
day of November next succeeding, and interest in the event of
