VIRGINIA

AND MARYLAND— That the line

established by the agreement of the

commissioners in the year 1668, to

fix to bounds of, is hereby declared

to be the true line of boundary be-

tween the two States on the Eastern

Shore of the Chesapeake bay, and
the true divisional line across Chesa-

peake bay is a straight line from

Smith's point at the mouth of the

Potomac to the southernmost angle

of the body of land defined by the

commissioner at Watkins' point,

The northern line of this State is a line

commencing at the Fairfax stone at

the head of the North branch of the

Potomac river, and running due

north to the southern line of the

State of Pennsylvania, as surveyed

in 1859, by commissioners appointed

by, for that purpose,

"

The sum of $10, 000 appropriated to

pay this State's proportion of such

expenses as may be required to com-

plete survey and record of said lines,

and the compensation of the com-

missioners and the engineer shall be

such as the Governor may deem rea-

sonable, not exceeding $2, 000 per

annum to the former, and $1, 000

per annum to the latter, &c.,
