CHAP. 376.
|
county, for the year eighteen hundred and forty-
eight, be, and they are hereby released, from the
payment of interest on the tax levied for the use
of the State, by the commissioners of said county,
for the said year; Provided, that the amount due
for principal from said collector, together with all
costs and charges that shall or may have accrued
by reason of any suits thereon, shall be paid on or
before the first day of May, in the present year,
upon the adjustment of said claims by the Comp-
troller; Provided, that the said sureties shall not
be released from the payment of such interest as
shall have been received into the treasury.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to authorise the payment of arrears of
rent due Mrs. Matilda E. Green for her house
used for storage of the State's Fire Engine.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer, on the warrant
of the Comptroller, pay to Mrs. Matilda E. Green
the sum of one hundred dollars, in full, for all ar-
rear of rent, due her for her premises, heretofore
used for the storage of the State's Fire Engine, and
also the sum of fifty-two dollars and twenty-three
cents for costs paid by her in maintaining her right
to keep the Fire Apparatus of the State,
