A SUPPLEMENT to the first section of an act en-
titled, an act to incorporate the Junior Fire com-
pany of Frederick county, passed March eighteen
hundred and thirty-nine, chapter three hundred
and three.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That power is hereby granted to said
corporation to hold or possess property, real, per-
sonal and mixed, not exceeding in value the sum
of twenty-five thousand dollars.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to amend the Code of Public Local Laws
of Somerset county, by adding thereto the fol-
lowing sections.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That hereafter it shall not be lawful
for the clerk of the Circuit court for Somerset county,
to issue a license to any person to sell spiritous li-
quors in the fourteenth election district common-
ly called Lawson's District of Somerset county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That hereafter it shall
not be lawful for any person to sell with a view to
profit in the way of trade, any spirituous liquors in
the said fourteenth election district under the pen-
alty of ten dollars for each offence, to be recovered
before any justice of the peace of the said county,
one-half to the use of the informer and the other
half to the commissioners of the county for the use
of the free school in said county.
