CHAPTER 21.

AN ACT to repeal section ninety, of the Public
Local Laws relating to election districts in Kent
county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That George B. Westcott, George H.
Wilson, Caleb W. Spry, Thomas C. Kennard, John
Gale, Edward Wilkins, John S. Constable, David
C. Blackiston, and Albert Medders, of Kent county,
be and the same are hereby appointed a Board of
Commissioners to lay off and divide Kent county
into four or five suitable election districts, which-
ever number they may deem best, suited to the con-
venience of the voters, of as nearly equal number of
voters as they may find it practicable, and having
due regard to the convenience of the voters; and to
designate the names or number of said districts re-
spectively.

SEC. 2. The said Commissioners shall on the se-
cond Monday in May next, or as soon thereafter as
practicable, proceed to the execution of their duties
imposed by this act, and shall define and describe
the said districts as accurately as may be, and re-
turn an account of their proceedings in writing to
the clerk of the Circuit court of Kent county, who
shall record the same among the records in his of-
fice, and shall also return a copy of the same to the
County Commissioners for Kent county, who shall
record the same in the minutes of proceedings of
the said Commissioners, and preserve the original
among the files of the said board.

SEC. 3. The said Commissioners under this act
shall designate the respective places of holding the
elections, and the County Commissioners, shall
provide suitable accommodations for the judges and
clerks of the elections; and for holding the elections,
through the sheriff of the county, but in case of a
want of proper accommodations, or any other cause
it be impracticable or inexpedient to hold an elec-
tion at any of the said designated places, the sher-
iff shall provide other and proper places and accom-
modations as near as possible to the places appoint-
ed by the said Commissioners.
