1860.

twelve impartial jurors to meet on or near said land
on a day to be therein named, to assess the damages
sustained by said owner or owners, by reason of
said road passing through such land, or such land
being taken for the erection of a toll house, and
the said jury shall make inquisition of said dama-
ges, which inquisition shall be returned to the
office of the clerk, and shall be confirmed by said
court, unless cause to the contrary be shown at the
court, to which the same shall be returned, but if
set aside, the said court shall direct another inqui-
sition to be taken in the manner aforesaid.

CHAP. 305.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That the county com-
missioners of Washington county, shall be and
they are hereby authorised, in their discretion, to
subscribe, in the name of Washington county, for
fifty shares of the capital stock of the said company,
and the amount so subscribed shall be levied by
them on the assessable property of the county.

SEC. 15. And be it enacted, That said company
shall not exercise any banking powers, or issue any

AN ACT to incorporate the Bare Hill Mining Com-
pany.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That William Henry Keener, David
Keener, G. B. Wilson, Robert G. Armstrong, their
associates, successors and assigns, be and they are
hereby created a corporation and body politic, by
the name and style of the Bare Hill Mining Com-
pany, and by that name may have perpetual suc-
cession, and shall be able and capable in law to
sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded, answer
and be answered in any court of law or equity, and
to make and use a common seal, and to ordain and
