LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 304.

according to the provisions of this act, by any of
the companies to which the same is hereby applied,
the faith of the State is hereby pledged to apply
such portion to works of internal improvement in
the county to which the same may properly belong.

tors in each
company.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the State shall
be entitled to the following number of directors in
each of the Internal Improvement companies named
in this act respectively, namely: Maryland and
Delaware Railroad company, three directors; Kent
county Railroad company, three directors; Queen
Anne's and Kent Railroad company, three directors;
Eastern Shore Railroad company, three directors;
Worcester Railroad company, two directors; Chop-
tank and Mispillion Railroad company, one director;
Elkton and Sassafras River Railroad company, two
directors; Philadelphia and Baltimore Central Rail-
road company, one director; Bohemia Bridge com-
pany, one director; Columbia and Port Deposit
Railroad company, two directors; the said State
directors to be appointed in the same manner as the
directors in all other works of internal improve-
ment are appointed, where the State has a repre-
sentative.

CHAPTER 304.

AN ACT to incorporate a company, to be known
as the Leitersburg and Ringold Turnpike Com-
pany.

Incorporated

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That a company is hereby incorpo-
rated to make a turnpike road from Leitersburg to
Ringold, in Washington county.

Capital stock.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of said company shall be eight thousand dollars,
in shares of twenty dollars each.

Commission-
ers to receive
subscriptions.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That subscription
books shall be opened at Leitersburg, and at such
other places in Washington county as the commis-
sioners hereinafter named shall think proper, on or
