CHAP. 14.
|
Smith, William Daniel, Edwin H. Webster, Wil-
liam Alexander, Archibald Stirling, Jr., Henry
H. Goldsborough, Ulysses Hobbs, Charles B. Thrus-
ton, Daniel R. Magruder and Edward W. Belt,
each the sum of one thousand dollars, for compen-
sation for their services as members of the Joint
Committee appointed by the General Assembly at
its January session, eighteen hundred and fifty-
eight, to examine during the recess, the reports of
the Commissioners to revise and codify the laws.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That the Treasurer upon
the warrant of the Comptroller be and he is hereby
authorised to pay to James W. Clayton, clerk to
the said Committee the sum of one thousand dol-
lars for his services.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the date of its passage.

AN ACT to refund to the legatees of Thomas L.
Offutt, the money paid by Turner Wootton, Ad-
ministrator of said Thomas L. Offutt, on the for-
feiture recognizances of Thomas M. Offutt.

to pay.

a SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer of the State pay
upon the warrant of the Comptroller, to Elizabeth
E. Offut, Sarah E. Offutt, Ellena C. Offutt, Walton
Offutt and Weirfield Offutt or to their certain At-
torney, out of any moneys in the Treasury not
otherwise appropriated, the sum of seventeen hun-
dred dollars.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the time of its passage.
