AN ACT supplementary to an act entitled, an act
making an appropriation for the erection of a
Hospital for the Insane of this State, passed at
the January session, eighteen hundred and fifty-
eight, of the Legislature of Maryland, chapter
one hundred and seventy-nine.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the further sum of one hundred
thousand dollars be and the same is hereby appro-
priated for the purpose of continuing the erection
of the insane hospital under the provisions of the
act passed at the January session, eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-one, chapter three hundred and ten,
in manner and form as hereinafter provided.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the Treasurer,
upon the warrant of the Comptroller, shall pay the
said sum in equal sums to the commissioners, or a
majority of them, appointed under the aforesaid
act, (one-half of the same to be paid during the
year eighteen hundred and sixty, and the other
half to be paid during the year eighteen hundred
and sixty-one, ) the same to be paid in. equal instal-
ments, that is to say, one twenty-fourth part of
said sum on the first day of March, in the year
eighteen hundred and sixty, and the same amount
on the first of each successive month, until the full

sum appropriated has become exhausted; Provided,
that the said commissioners shall apply the said
appropriations to the construction of the centre
building, finishing the north wing, and con-
structing the south wing, as far as the appropria-
tion will allow, and in accordance with the plan
