CHAPTER 226.

CHAP. 227.

AN ACT to amend the Code of Public General
Law, article ninety-five, relating to weights and
measures, by repealing the eighteenth section of
said article, and substituting the following in
lieu thereof:

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the eighteenth section of the
ninety-fifth article of the Code of Public General
Law, relating to weights and measures, be and the
same is hereby repealed, and that the following be
substituted therefor:

Repealed.

SEC. 2. Potatoes in this State shall be sold by
weight at the rate of fifty-six pounds to the bushel,
and any person offending against the provisions of
this section shall be subject to a fine often dollars,
to be recovered before any justice of the peace of
the city or county where said offence may be com-
mitted.

A FURTHER SUPPLEMENT to the act entitled,
an act to incorporate the Mutual Insurance Com-
pany of Frederick county.

Passed Feb.
25, 1860.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful for
the Mutual Insurance company, of Frederick coun-
ty, when the risk of the company on buildings in-
sured has been increased by the erection of build-
ings by any person or persons in the vicinity, or by
alterations or change, occupation of buildings in
the vicinity as aforesaid, not completed, or not com-
templated, and made known to the board of direc-
tors of this company, when the insurance was origi-
nally made or renewed, to demand, or before any
subsequent renewal of the policy, by payment of
the annual interest on the premium note, or at and
